SHORT FILMCompetition

WITH GREAT POWER COMES... A short film competition

Hi there, so you've probably ended up here as you heard there was a short film competition happening? Well... there is!

We are very excited to announce a short film competition sponsored by 'A World Without Unicorns' from AJF Web Design.

We want you to create a short film, no more than 5 minutes in length, including titles and credits. You can submit something you have previously made as long as it fits the theme and is no more than 18 months old.

As this is the first time running this competition we had decided to keep it local to Moray but after many enquiries we decided to open it up to anyone in the UK.

"So what's the theme?!" I hear you cry, well the theme of the competition is "Inspired by... Industrial Light and Magic or Comic Books... or both!"

The competition is open to short films of all production techniques and genres... as long as it fits the theme. So feel free to create an animation, drama, comedy, action, romance, etc.

The film needs to be family friendly, so watch the language and gore. Also you'll need to make sure you have persmission/licences to use any music, images or footage in your film... strictly no copyrighted material to be used.

That's the basic list of do's and dont's (full T's & C's below), we want you to create something awesome that you want to show to the world. Once you are ready to submit simply login to your dedicated Google drive folder (to be assigned) and upload your finished blockbuster.

Your films will be marked by judges on a few different aspects and results will be correlated to pick a winner. * Judges to be announced *
Your film, along with the other entries, will be screened during this years Elgin comic book convention EL-CON on the 24th on June 2018, at a the Elgin Town Hall, and it is here we will announce the winner of the first ever "With Great Power Comes... Short Film Competition".

*** There are plans to try and have an extra screening before the El-con event so we will keep you posted. ***

Your film, along with the other entries, will be screened all day at this years Elgin Comic Book Convention, held on Sunday the 24th of June 2018 at the Elgin Town Hall. We plan to have multiple TV screens around the venue as well as an area people can sit and watch all the films but will keep you posted on this. Winners and runners up will be announced on the day of the El-Con event.

So the bit you're probably most interested in is the prizes:

First place: £100 prize money, a cool trophy, bragging rights.
